How To Install WordPress On The Root Directory & How To Add Multiple Dom...

Installing Wordpress on the root directory is the first step in getting your new site up and running. This is not a rule set up by me, it is just the rule to go by. You want to have as few subfolders as you can so that you can keep the load time as fast as possible (this is important for gaining the trust of the visitor).

Having the deluxe webhosting plan should be self explanatory. Especially in the case of niche websites, you want to keep the overhead as low as possible to maximize profits! That is the whole point here. Having separate hosting on each domain would cost you about $5 per/month, where having a deluxe system would cost about $9 per/month and you can have up to 25 domains on each deluxe hosting plan! As long as the traffic isn't too high on the websites, which would slow down the loadtime, having 25 websites shouldn't be a problem.

How To Back Up Your FTP Files (With Filezilla)

Backing up your FTP files, and knowing how to use Filezilla in general, are a major part of owning a website. Once you have created the major part of your website (index.php and so on), the next step is to back up every single file to both your home computer and to a flash drive. If you were to have a problem with your hosting provider and lost hosting for even a moment, your files may be completely lost! Leaving you to start over from scratch! Some hosting providers do have your files backed up for you but will charge in excess of $200 to upload them back to the server.

So get Filezilla downloaded, watch the basic tutorials and then watch my video on how to back up your files. If there were any parts that you didn't understand, please leave a comment for me and I will help you resolve the issue! (site used in this video is highschoolgraduationpartyideas.net)

Add Google Analytics To Your Site

Google Analytics is just one of many Google products that will help you to keep up with the statistics of your website. If you ever want to become the master of your domain, you will want to stay on top of your websites' statistics. Analytics will show you how many new and unique visitors come to your website on a daily basis, what country those visits are from, how long they remained on your page, and most important...what the bounce rate of your site is.

For those of you who aren't familiar with the bounce rate, it is the statistic that tells you how many people come to your landing page and then leave directly, without navigating to any other pages or posts. If your bounce rate is high, you will want to change some part of your landing page, or even change the landing page all-together. Different colors and placements can make all the difference in your bounce-rate, you just have to test to find out what works best for your niche.

Make An Icon For Your Niche Site

Making an icon for your website is an important step towards establishing your brand. An icon is what helps people establish your product from the masses and will be remembered by your site's visitors. You can either watch this video to help you create your own video, or you can have one made for you by a professional. If you choose to have one made, I would advise you to go to fiverr.com, set up an account, and look for "Sorina4k". She has built multiple logo's for me that are professional, cost only $5, and are delivered within two days.

Google Custom Search

Google custom search is a great tool to use on your website (you can see what it looks like on my website highschoolgraduationpartyideas.net), it makes the navigation of your website super easy for the visitor. Even though you may have everything listed in your menu bar, the custom search engine gives the user the ability to search for any keyword that may be in your text without having to navigate the posts and pages. Even better than that, you can select the option for the custom search engine to show advertisements! If you are monetizing your website with Google Adsense, this makes perfect sense.
